El-Roi der Schattenwaechter (German Chapter)

This album is primarily about confronting the polarizing tensions in our inner lives and the accompanying problems which result, since everything about our lives aligns with these opposing forces: (Im Englischen, ist es in diesem Zusammenhang etwas unklar was mit Polärität bzw. Orientierung gemeint ist) from science and philosophy to religion and astronomy, good and evil, plus and minus, here and there, for and against, etc. The title of his EP, "Black-White" mirrors this theme of polarity. The role of the "Shadowkeepers" is to bring to light the deepest aspects of our souls. It concerns aspects of ourselves we don't want to face and would rather push into some kind of shadow region in order to neutralize. This shadow zone is conversely the source of the "Shadowkeeper's" existence. It's a region which nurtures and refreshes him, enabling him to exist at all. He was also at once a human being. But because of the scandal of his sinful life, he was punished by God and became a soulless phantom, who must prove himself and will only be redeemed once the last human has forsaken his own shadows. He is, as it were, the product of our deepest anxieties. His role is to restore our inner equilibrium. For only then can he find the eternal rest which all other souls find.
